Sonny Landreth - From the ReachSonny’s new album is due April 20, and it’ll feature guest appearances by Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Vince Gill, Eric Johnson, Robben Ford, Dr. John and Jimmy Buffett. “The guest thing/duet approach has already been done to no end,” Sonny says. “My hope was to make this different by writing songs specifically for each artist. Because I’m so familiar with their styles, and they’ve all had such an impact on me, I used that connection to make these collaborations have chemistry. I didn’t want this to sound like an album of ‘sit ins,’ I want it to sound more like these friends are in the band.”

Canned Heat - Christmas AlbumCanned Heat first recorded a Christmas single in 1968 as a novelty follow-up to their signature hit On The Road Again. One side was an unlikely pairing with The Chipmunks(!), the other an impromptu studio blues, Christmas Blues. Both are here along with two other versions of Christmas Blues, one live with Dr John, the other - featuring Eric Clapton on guitar - from a 1998 Special Olympics Charity Concert in Washington, DC. To complete this seasonal package the rest of these tracks were recorded in 2006 by the current Canned Heat line-up.
