From www.97rock.com: Longtime friends Eric Clapton and Robbie Robertson have told our 97 Rock reporters that they have started recording their first album together last month in London, and according to a source close to Robertson, it is "gong well." They've been working with drummer Ian Thomas and bass player Pino Palladino, both of whom will join Clapton on his North American spring tour, which starts Saturday in Tampa, Florida. Robertson will continue to work on the album, which will be all original material, and then get together with Clapton at the end of the summer. Canned Heat - Christmas AlbumCanned Heat first recorded a Christmas single in 1968 as a novelty follow-up to their signature hit On The Road Again. One side was an unlikely pairing with The Chipmunks(!), the other an impromptu studio blues, Christmas Blues. Both are here along with two other versions of Christmas Blues, one live with Dr John, the other - featuring Eric Clapton on guitar - from a 1998 Special Olympics Charity Concert in Washington, DC. To complete this seasonal package the rest of these tracks were recorded in 2006 by the current Canned Heat line-up.
