Zurich Though not as strong as last night's performance in Wiesbaden, tonight's concert in Zurich was still very good. Eric surprised everyone by playing Help Me, a Sonny Boy Williamson / Willie Dixon classic instead of Drifting. Isn't it a Pity was reinstated, but Got to Get Better in a Little While remained. On Got to Get Better, Eric tried to get drummer Abe Laboriel, Jr. to take a solo. Abe declined, but Willie Weeks accepted, continuing the tradition of the 2006/7 tour.
Tonight there were 2 major changes in the set list: Little Wing was played instead of Isn't It A Pity and Motherless Children was replaced by Got To Get Better In A Little While! The concert took place on a village green in the center of Wiesbaden, an outdoor concert...

Eric Clapton @ Hyde Park 28 June 2008 - Photo © Roy Badley- Report from Terri Weinberger: If someone had told me in Columbus at the end of the 2007 tour that the band could get this much better, it would have been very hard to believe. Not counting the backing vocalists (who were also great), there are five extraordinary musicians in this lineup. It is just fantastic to hear Eric and Doyle play the blues in a "no holds barred" rock band. From Tell the Truth and Key to the Highway to Hear but I'm Gone (which was like the Dominos meets Curtis) and Why Does Love, it was just phenomenal. Motherless Child really rocked with Abe and Willie. Little Queen of Spades was an epic version with spectacular solos by Eric and Doyle. Of the "hits," Before You Accuse Me was the best. Most of the encore, Crossroads, with Sheryl Crow, Robert Randolph, and John Mayer was fairly predictable, but the opening was quite interesting. All in all, a wonderful performance.
MODIFIED ON 24 JUNE 2008: The unknown new Curtis Mayfield song is called "Here But I'm Gone". This song lasts around eight and a half minutes with two amazing solos by Eric. Review by Robert Nickalson: This was a fantastic, amazing show! Two new songs on the set list a...
The second concert of the European Summer Tour was a big adventure for those who attended: a lot of rain and power failures during the concert! Review by Patrick Mulder: What a night! It could have been a nice venue, if it had not been raining so much! The band...
